Util-CheckIn runs an event from your phone, from the invitation to the final head count. Pull a Marketo program’s registrant list onto the device, check people in by tap or by scan, register the visitor who never signed up, and close the event on the no-shows. Several phones can work the same event at once, each one seeing the others’ check-ins within the minute.

The Event App

Otowui QR Scanner opens on your event, not on a camera. Choose the Marketo program, pull its registrants onto the phone, up to 6,000 people, and the list stays readable even with no network at all. Search by name, email or company, work the Registered and Checked-In lists, and check someone in with a single tap or with their QR code.

Every change made from a phone can be undone, and everything is written straight into the Marketo program: no export, no spreadsheet, no reconciliation afterwards.

Key Capabilities

• The registrant list on the device: up to 6,000 members pulled from the program, readable offline.
• Status chips: one chip per status present in the channel, with its count, in step order. Work a queue such as Pending Approval, Waitlisted or No Show without leaving the list.
• One-tap check-in, and undo: the usual case is one tap, any other status is two, and a change made from this phone can be reverted.
• Walk-ins: someone who never registered is added to the program in seconds, their Marketo person reused when it already exists and never overwritten, with a badge you can print on the spot.
• Close the event: once the doors are shut, move every no-show to its final status in one pass, 300 at a time, and reverse any of them from the list.
• Live refresh: with several phones on one event, each one merges what changed in Marketo every minute, so a check-in made at another door appears on yours.
• A program picker built for large instances: programs scoped by recent activity, filtered by workspace, events only by default, and a search box that opens a program by exact name or by id.
• Offline resilience: scans and status changes are queued on the device with their result and sent when the network returns, one by one or all at once.

How It Works

1. Create your event campaign in Marketo and add the Util-CheckIn Flow Step Service, which generates a unique QR code for each recipient.
2. Send the invitation. Each email carries a personalized QR code tied to that person and that program.
3. On the day, your team opens the app, signs in with their Otowui credentials and picks the program. The registrant list comes down to the phone.
4. At the door, check people in by tap or by scanning their code, and add the walk-ins who turn up without an invitation.
5. When it is over, close the event: every no-show moves to its final status in one pass, and Marketo is up to date before you leave the venue.

Scans and status changes are queued locally with their result and go out as soon as the connection returns, individually or all at once. Your Marketo data stays accurate whatever the venue’s network is doing.

The Flow Step Service: QR Codes in Your Emails

The Util-CheckIn Flow Step Service plugs into your Marketo Smart Campaigns. Add it as a flow step and it generates a unique QR code for every lead in the campaign. The code carries the program, the person and the target status, which is everything the app needs to process a check-in.

The Web App: The Same Event From a Browser

Not everyone on your team needs a native app. The web app gives you the same event screens from any modern browser, desktop or mobile: the program picker, the registrant list, the walk-in form and the close of the event. Scan from a laptop at the registration desk, or work the list by hand. It is also the fallback when a device is missing.

Requirements
